President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Maulana Mahmood Asa’d Madani visits the earthquake affected areas of Turkey and distributed relief items among the needy.

New Delhi, March 7, 2023: Maulana Mahmood Asa’d Madani, president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, today reached Turkey's earthquake-hit areas of Antakya and Kahramanmaraş, where he consoled thousands of affected families sheltered in camps and he distributed food kits among them. Distribution of relief materials was carried out with the cooperation of Al-Khair Foundation.
This devastating earthquake has not only destroyed thousands of families, but it orphaned many children. During the meeting with these victims, Maulana Madani was surrounded by children and babies. A child in Antioch even recited a surah of the Holy Quran in front of Maulana Madani. It should be clear that more than five hundred thousand houses in Turkey have been completely destroyed or severely damaged. The historic city of Antakya, which was conquered by Sultan Rukn al-Din Baybars in 1268 and made a part of the Ottoman Empire, is completely deserted today. People are sheltering in camps in the outskirts of the city. In such circumstances, it appears that the first need in Turkey is to provide shelter to the earthquake affected persons on immediate basis.
Earlier, Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind, visited the earthquake-affected areas of Turkey. He distributed 1,000 sleep mattresses among the needy in view of the extreme cold weather there. Maulana Madani will also visit more affected areas to assess the possibilities of rehabilitation besides providing assistance to the affected persons.

نئی دہلی ۷؍مارچ ۲۳: جمعیۃ علماء ہند کے صدر مولانا محمود اسعد مدنی آج ترکی کے زلزلہ زدہ علاقے انطاکیہ اورکہرمان مرعش پہنچے ، جہاں انھوں نے ہزاروں کیمپوں میں پناہ گزیں متاثرہ خاندانوں کی دل جوئی کی اور ضرورت مندوں کے درمیان اپنے ہاتھوں فوڈ کٹس تقسیم کئے، یہ عمل الخیر فائونڈیشن کے اشتراک کے انجام دیا گیا ۔اس قیامت خیز زلزلہ نے ہزاروں خاندانوں کو نہ صرف اجاڑ دیا ہے ، بلکہ بہت سارے معصوم بچوں سے والدین کاسایہ بھی اٹھ گیا ہے ۔ان متاثرین سے ملاقات کے دوران چھوٹے چھوٹے معصوم بچوں کود یکھ کر مولانا مدنی آبدیدہ ہوگئے ، انھوں نے بچوں سے بات چیت کی اور انطاکیہ میں ایک بچہ نے مولانا مدنی کے سامنے قرآن مجید کی ایک سورہ بھی سنائی۔واضح ہو کہ ترکی میں پانچ لاکھ سے زیادہ مکانات یاتو بالکلیہ منہدم ہوگئے ہیں یا ناقابل رہائش حد تک مخدوش ہوگئے ہیں۔تاریخی شہر انطاکیہ جسے سلطان رکن الدین بیبرس نے 1268ء میں فتح کرکے سلطنت عثمانیہ کا حصہ بنا دیا تھا ، آج بالکلیہ طور سے ویران پڑا ہوا ہے، لوگ مضافات شہر میں کیمپوں میں پناہ لیے ہوئے ہیں ۔ ایسے حالات میں یہ ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ ترکی میں اولین ضرورت لوگوں کو دوبارہ آشیانہ فراہم کرنا ہے ۔

ازیں قبل جمعیۃ علماء ہند کے جنرل سکریٹر ی مولانا حکیم الدین قاسمی نے ترکی کے زلزلہ متاثرہ علاقوں کا دورہ کیا تھا ، اور انھوں نے ضرورت مندوں کے درمیان سخت سردی کے مدنظر ایک ہزار سلیپ گدے تقسیم کیے تھے ۔مولانا محمود اسعد مدنی صدر جمعیۃ علماء ہند مزید متاثرہ علاقوں کا بھی دورہ کریں گے اور ضروت مندوں کی امداد کے علاوہ ان کی بازآبادکاری کے امکانات کا بھی جائزہ لیں گے ۔
